World Sailor Awards ISAF

ISAF have now invited nominations for their World Sailor of the Year Awards. It is widely acknowledged as representative of opinion with the award going to the 'highest achievers from all disciplines of the sport'.

When we say all disciplines it is very much the case, with nominees including windsurfers, kiteboarders, dinghy sailors and offshore sailors.

Nominations can be made by anyone with the closing date being 5 September 2012 .

Click here for more information. The process will then unravel with a shortlist that will then be voted on by the ISAF member national authorities. The vote is then for one male and one female recipient.

Previous winners include:

Iker Martinez & Xabier Fernandez (ESP), Anna Tunnicliffe (USA) from 2011 .

Ben Ainslie in 2008, 2002 & 1998.

Ellen MacArthur 2005 & 2001.

Shirley Robertson 2000.
