Volunteer Lock Keepers
Posted on : 23/04/2011
The Environment Agency is giving people an opportunity to become a volunteer assistant lock-keeper.
The scheme is planned to run over the summer months. Volunteers will be assisting with the operation and maintenance of the locks and if you have the time, its an opportunity to get involved with the day-to-day running of these iconic landmarks that are spread along the Thames.
The environment agency is looking for local people who perhaps know the areas and will be able to advise visitors using their local knowledge giving tips on local amenities and places to visit. The ideal candidate should be able to dedicate at least one day per week.
Sounds like a great opportunity.
