Olympic Torch / Cowes
Posted on : 10/07/2012
ABP Southampton have issued a Notice to Mariners advising of the Olympic Torch being transported from Cowes to Southampton on the 14th July 2012.
The Red Funnel Ferry Service will transport the flame on the 1630service. The notice advises that the ferry will follow its normal route. The notice also advises that the torch will not be visible from outside the ship until it approaches Southampton whereupon it will be positioned on the forward upperdeck.
It is advised that any small craft wishing to follow should keep clear of the channel as there are big ship movements at that time. It appears that unless you are on the ferry, there isn't a lot to see.
