Felix - The New Member of the Olympic Sailing Squad
Posted on : 31/10/2010
Feathered Addition to British Olympic Sailing Team.
Felix is a Peregrine Falcon and he has been given an honorary membership of the British Olympic Sailing Team. Whilst his activities will be water bound, most of the time he will be chasing seagulls away from the accommodation blocks. Seagulls are part of the marine shoreline but their early morning calls were disturbing the athlete's sleep patterns and the associated seagull mess was becoming more noticeable on the buildings and perhaps more importantly, the boats themselves!
Nobody wants any slip ups !!!
The general idea is to bring Felix onto the site about two weeks before sailing events. In the run up to the Olympics, the Weymouth Sailing venue is going to be busy so his services will be required on a regular basis.
